Dairy Farm

There are two different dairy breeds in our college farm, HF and Jersey. Dairy cows, heifers and calves are managed separately with their own well established barns. Current situation majority of dairy cattle in the college is Holstein Friesian. The total number lactating cows are 24 with the average daily milk yield of 11 liter.  The maximum milk production is about 18 liters/day and whereas minimum production 4 liters/day. Daily attendant and farm worker, manager and other livestock experts detect heat sing in the farm. The farms use both AI and selected bull services for breeding. The farm applies good dairy farming practice to produce safe and quality milk from healthy animals under generally acceptable conditions. The farm equipped with different materials, tools and equipment’s such as milking machine, artificial insemination materials, materials that use for medication purpose and etc. Total number of cattle in the farm is 65.
